Vintage oval frame made of resin and gold leaf, dating from 1970–1980.
Description from the seller
Important vintage gilded oval frame, richly worked (Mezzopunto embroidery piece included as a gift)
Elegant vintage oval frame from the second half of the 20th century, characterized by an eclectic Baroque and Neoclassical-inspired style. The structure features rich relief carving with ornamental motifs of scrolls, foliage and geometric details along the entire perimeter, finished with a conspicuous antique-looking surface gilding.
Note on the material: The frame is not made of wood. It is a piece in high-density synthetic material (resin, rigid polyurethane, or pressed plaster), a traditional artisanal technique typical of the vintage period to achieve intricate decorations and structural lightness.
Note on the inner artwork (Included):
The frame is sold complete with the front protective glass and includes as a gift a vintage inner painting made entirely by hand with the mezzopunto embroidery technique (Gobelin/mezzopunto), depicting an autumn riverscape. The purchaser may decide whether to keep the artwork or reuse the frame for a mirror or another canvas.
Technical specifications:
