“Face of the Passion” is a work of extraordinary spiritual and emotional intensity, dedicated to the figure of Jesus Christ during the Passion, depicted in a moment of deep suffering, contemplation and faithful surrender to the divine will.

The Redeemer’s face dominates the composition, emerging from the shadows with an expressive force that can immediately capture the gaze. The head, encircled by a crown of thorns, is turned toward the sky, while the raised eyes convey an intense mix of pain, prayer, and hope. The features marked by suffering, the thick beard and the hair falling over the shoulders render a deeply human image of Christ, in which sacrifice intertwines with spiritual serenity and the awareness of his mission.

Particularly evocative is the light that illuminates Jesus’ face, creating an intense contrast with the dark background and enveloping the crown of thorns in an almost transcendent atmosphere. The deep shadows emphasize the drama of the expression, while the delicate signs of suffering on the face recall the physical and spiritual torment of the Passion. The composition concentrates its strength on the gaze lifted upward, transforming an image of pain into a representation of faith, mercy, and redemption.

Realized in a refined harmony of sepia, browns, and blacks, the work strikes with the depth of chiaroscuro and the richness of details.
