HAL SUNDAY (1930)’s *Ringside Silence* is an original acrylic painting, signed by hand and dated 2026.
Description from the seller
HAL SUNDAY (1930) - Ringside Silence - Acrylic painting · Hand-signed · 2026
Here, a young man stands facing us, bare-chested, wearing a midnight blue protective helmet whose clear visor bars the forehead. His gaze is fixed, lips closed, in a silence that precedes the fight. Behind him, a pale blue background and a stretched red rope delineate the ring. One thinks of Eakins' boxers, painted with the same attention as an official portrait. Light flesh tones and gray shadows contrast with the cool blues of the setting, and the helmet masks part of the face without erasing the expression.
A canvas of calm tension, where the fight has not yet begun.
Technique: mixed media, original acrylic painting, varnish.
Support: premium canvas stretched on a wooden frame, ready to hang.
Format: 40 × 60 cm.
Signed HAL SUNDAY · Galerie Labo Joconde / Atelier Joconde · certificate of authenticity provided.
HAL SUNDAY is one of the creations bringing together artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop and free figuration. Under the name HAL SUNDAY, the Atelier revives the hushed America of the 1930s-40s and the heritage of Edward Hopper: solitary figures, natural light that sculpts the moment, inhabited silences and restrained melancholy, in the lineage of American scene painting (American Scene Painting).
Each work is a unique piece.
