AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Early work by Vijlbrief, around 1966, a wonderful period full of experiments, of which this painting is certainly one. Vijlbrief belonged, indeed, to the Avant-Garde Painters of the sixties. The power of Vijlbrief's work is comparable to that of the CoBrA painters, with whom he also exhibited in the fifties (including Corneille, Karel Appel, Alechinsky, and others).
The work hangs, among others, in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Cobramuseum, the Gemeente Museum in Utrecht, and the Rijkscollectie in Ibiza.
As soon as payment is received, the work will be neatly shipped to you.
Seller's Story
Hello and welcome to D.A. Art!
We are a passionate art dealer active in Europe with more than 10 years of experience in the art market.
Over the past decade, we have specialised in discovering, researching, restoring and accordingly offering high-quality market fresh artworks that stand out for their beauty, originality, or artistic significance.
At D.A. Art, we maintain a very selective approach. We only sell works that we ourselves genuinely like — pieces we believe are beautiful, interesting, or strong enough to proudly offer to our European collectors. Every artwork in our collection has been carefully chosen for its quality, condition, and artistic value.
Whether you are a passionate collector, an interior lover, or someone taking their first steps into the art world, you can trust that each piece we present has passed our personal “would we hang this ourselves?” test.
We look forward to sharing these special works with you and hope you find something that speaks to you.
Warm regards,
D.A. Art
