This Benoit & Cie Savonnette pocket watch, dating from 1850–1900, has a 40 mm 18-carat gold case, a manual-winding movement and the number 32980.
Description from the seller
Savonette-style pocket watch (Hunter) in 18k gold branded on both outer covers of the case. 13 jewels. Some letters and numbers are also visible inside the outer covers.
Based on its characteristics it should date from the late 1800s to early 1900s.
White enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals in the seconds subdial. The enamel is in good condition, the hour hand is intact while the minute hand has been restored.
The front and back covers are externally decorated with filigree of flowers and various raised designs and very small dark enamels sometimes missing, and internally with a uniform decoration. The edge also bears fine engraving.
Time-setting and winding are done with a special key (no. 8) which is missing.
Fair condition with some dents on both the front and back covers. There are also some light scratches from normal wear, all visible in the photos.
There are lightoxidations in the movement.
Operational, after a light cleaning, lubrication, and inspection.
Numbered 32980.
Diameter 40 mm, weight 46.35 g.
An approximate estimate puts the gold content at 18k at 35-40% of the total weight.
Shipping will be insured and trackable.
IMPORTANT:
Due to the long lead times for customs documentation and the complexity of procedures with shippers and border authorities, this item is available exclusively within the European Union. Export of precious stones and antique gold objects is not always possible due to restrictions in some countries, and shipments are not possible for any type of hard and precious stone.
