Description from the seller

Charming small portable domestic chapel (hornicina) in neo-baroque Spanish style, dating from the first half of the 20th century (circa 1920). It houses a detailed representation of the Virgen del Pilar, patron saint of Zaragoza and of Hispano-American heritage, on a blue starry background. The structure is made of heavy plaster, richly gilt by leaf or gold patina. The piece is notable for the rare presence of its two original miniature lanterns in wrought iron suspended on each side. At the back, the object has retained its period label with its original price handwritten in old Spanish pesetas (“40 pts”) which allows us to date it precisely. Good overall used condition with a beautiful patina of the time. Note minor wear on the gilding that attests to its authenticity and a crack on one side but nothing serious; lanterns are complete. Ideal for a collector of Spanish folk art and 20th-century religious art: a rare piece in its original condition. Happy bidding to all. As with all my items put up for auction on this site, this marvel has undergone no cleaning (just dusting), nor modification since purchase. Any damage not mentioned in the text but visible in the photos is considered described. If you are outside the European Union you can bid on one of my lots; however, no claims will be possible in case of problems during transport. Due to new import/export regulations to the USA there will be no shipping to this country. Professional careful shipping, with signature and insurance.

Seller's Story

Passionate about flea markets, and antiques of all kinds since my childhood, I was already selling on this site as an individual, the joy and kindness of the buyers made me understand that it was the right time to get started in my small business, I pay particular attention to the lots offered in order to be able to satisfy you, all my objects benefit from a very light cleaning and no restoration so that you can judge for yourself their quality and condition, so good auction to all and see you soon I hope
