LORIN - Poise — Chapter 5

Original painting by LORIN, part of an ongoing research on the human figure that emerges from textured surfaces and color. Lorin's research focuses on the female figure as an emotional and symbolic space, where presence, identity and perception meet.

Poise — Chapter 5 continues a reflection on balance, understood not as immobility or perfection, but as the ability to keep one’s own center even when something inside us changes. In English, poise indeed encompasses multiple meanings: composure, confidence, grace, but also a state of balance that does not need to be shown or demonstrated.
In psychology, emotional balance does not coincide with the absence of difficult emotions, but with the ability to traverse them without being completely governed by them. Poise — Chapter 4 tells this quieter form of strength: balance not as control of what we feel, but as the ability to remain ourselves while we feel it.
