Description from the seller
Lot of 10 porcelain Christmas plates "Kirke Platten" – Limited Edition Imerco / Produced by Baco (1969-1980) – With Boxes
Splendid vintage collection consisting of 10 wall Christmas plates (Juleplatten) in fine porcelain, decorated in the classic monochrome cobalt blue style. This is the prestigious Kirke Platten series, a very limited edition commissioned and distributed in Denmark by the famous Imerco brand, and physically produced in Germany by the Baco manufacture [Image 28]. Each piece depicts a historic Danish church or cathedral set in a characteristic winter landscape.
• Accessories: Original vintage boxes included (visible in photo)
• Mounting: Holes on the back integrated into the porcelain for immediate wall mounting
The collection nearly spans the entire 1970s with the following editions:
• 1969: Ribe Cathedral
• 1971: Typical church with stepped façade
• 1973: Grundtvigs Kirke (Copenhagen, organ pipe façade)
• 1974: Medieval two-tower church
• 1975: Classical church with a steeple
• 1976: Østerlars Rundkirke (Bornholm round church)
• 1977: Budolfi Kirke (Aalborg Cathedral)
• 1978: Gothic cathedral with a slender spire
• 1979: Holmens Kirke (Copenhagen, canal view)
• 1980: Sankt Bendts Kirke (Ringsted)
Excellent vintage condition (nearly like new). The porcelain has no crazing, chipping, cracks, or restorations of any kind. The blue color retains its original brightness perfectly. The original boxes are intact and show only minor and normal signs of aging.
Seller's Story
For over 20 years, I have dedicated myself passionately to the search for and trading of special, rare, curious objects from any era.
Every piece I select has something that catches my attention: it can be the shape, the story, the unusual aspect, or simply that detail that makes it unique.
I am always searching for objects that speak, that tell something to those who know how to listen.
I choose them carefully, photograph them honestly, and describe them as accurately as possible.
Selling on this Catawiki to share this passion with those who, like me, love to surround themselves with things with a soul.
