The 2017 Panerai Radiomir 1940, reference PAM00512, has a 42 mm stainless-steel case, a black dial and a hand-wound P.999/1 movement, and is supplied with its original box and papers.
Description from the seller
Panerai Radiomir 1940 PAM00512, 42mm, Manufacture P.999/1, Full Set, First Owner
Description:
A modern classic with wartime roots. The Radiomir 1940 PAM00512 revives the cushion case Panerai created around 1940 for the Italian Navy’s frogmen: integrated lugs, clean muscular lines, and a 42 mm size that suits today’s wrist perfectly. Introduced at SIHH 2013 in Panerai’s Historic Collection, it remains one of the purest expressions of the brand’s design.
The dial
A deep black sandwich dial with large Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 6, baton indices and small seconds at 9 o’clock. The lume sits beneath cut-outs in the top plate, giving the numerals a three-dimensional depth that printed dials cannot match. No date, no clutter: Panerai at its most essential.
The movement
Behind the sapphire display back beats the in-house P.999/1, a hand-wound calibre developed and built entirely by Panerai. It is the slimmest movement in the Panerai range. It has 19 jewels, a Glucydur balance and Incabloc shock protection, beats at 21,600 vph and gives a 60-hour power reserve. Winding it every couple of days is a small ritual that reminds you why mechanical watches matter.
The case
Polished stainless steel, 42 mm, with a screw-down crown engraved with the OP logo. Water resistant to 100 m. The caseback is engraved with the individual numbering Q1911/2000.
Provenance
Offered by its first and only owner. Purchased new on 8 June 2017 from De Greef in Brussels, an official Panerai retailer since 1848. The guarantee certificate carries the dealer’s stamp, and every number matches across the watch, the papers and the original hang tag:
