Original edition.

Written by the Creuse-born physician and politician Joseph Joullietton (1763–1829), the work constitutes the first substantial attempt to write a comprehensive history of what today forms the department of the Creuse.

The author traces the geography, origins, fauna, flora, and major political events of the Combraille and the province of the Marche, from antiquity to the author's contemporary period.

Good annotated copy and relatively uncommon.
