Denmark at Mexico 1986

Denmark arrived at the 1986 World Cup with one of the most fascinating generations in its football history, still remembered today for its spectacular play and for the presence of numerous players of international caliber.

That team was commonly associated with the period of the so-called “Danish Dynamite,” a particularly attacking and technically refined nation that gained great popularity during the Eighties.

In the Mexican World Cup group, Denmark faced Scotland, West Germany, and Uruguay, winning all three matches and finishing first in their group.

From a collecting point of view, the most important figurine of the lot is certainly #361 Michael Laudrup, one of Europe's most representative players of his generation and future star with clubs such as Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Of particular interest is also #360 Preben Elkjær-Larsen, emblematic striker of 1980s Denmark and protagonist of Verona’s historic 1984/85 title.

Completing an enormously fascinating national team are names like Allan Simonsen, winner of the 1977 Ballon d'Or, Søren Lerby, Frank Arnesen, Jan Mølby, Jesper Olsen and captain Morten Olsen.
