Dial and Hands
The highly attractive silver dial is in well-preserved condition, retaining its original sunburst texture and crisp applied furniture. At the top of the dial sits the applied Rado rotating anchor logo on a purple background. Minor dust particles are visible under macro inspection. The original gold-tone dauphine hands, complete with a sweep center seconds hand, show age-appropriate oxidation and spotting on their surfaces, which contrasts slightly with the cleaner dial.
Case and Crystal
The 36 mm gold-tone case displays honest wear consistent with its age, showing moderate scratches, scuffs, and typical plating degradation on high-contact edges. Visible plating wear and tarnishing are present on the lug edges and case flanks. The integrated gold-tone smooth bezel shows scratches, minor dings, and some plating wear on the outer edge. The stainless steel caseback features clear engravings. The signed Rado crown, bearing the 'R' logo, also shows visible plating wear on its knurled edges and face. The domed acrylic crystal exhibits light surface scratches and minor crazing visible under angled light, while maintaining clear visibility of the dial beneath.
Movement
Powering the watch is a 30-jewel automatic movement, caliber 1700/01. The movement presents a clean overall visual appearance with no obvious corrosion, featuring silver-tone base plates and a gold-tone rotor decorated with Rado branding and the anchor logo. Clear engravings read Rado, 30 Jewels, Swiss, and 1700/01. The timegrapher records a rate of -30-33s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a complementary modern brown leather strap with contrast stitching. It appears lightly used with minimal creasing and is secured by an unsigned gold-tone buckle, presenting in excellent condition.
