Tadej Pogačar is a Slovenian cyclist who has been a member of UAE Team Emirates XRG since 2019.

In 2019 he became the youngest cyclist to win a UCI WorldTour stage race (the top level of professional cycling) by winning the 2019 Tour of California at only 20 years old. He also won three stages at that year’s Vuelta a España 2019, in which he finished third.

In 2020 he became, after Henri Cornet in 1904, the second youngest rider in history to win the Tour de France, claiming the victory in the 2020 Tour de France at 21 years, 11 months and 30 days.

In 2021 he became the fourth rider in history to win both the Tour de France and the Giro di Lombardia in the same year, after Fausto Coppi (1949), Eddy Merckx (1971 and 1972) and Bernard Hinault (1979). He also became the third rider in history to win the Tour de France and two monuments in the same year, after Coppi (in 1949 he won Giro, Tour and two monuments) and Merckx (in 1972 he won Giro, Tour and three monuments; in 1969 and 1971 he won the Tour and three monuments; and in 1973 he won Giro, Vuelta and two monuments).

In 2023, after his victory at the Tour of Flanders, he became the sixth rider in history to have won three different monuments and the Tour de France, after Fausto Coppi, Louison Bobet, Felice Gimondi, Eddy Merckx and Bernard Hinault. He also became the third rider in history to conquer both the Belgian race and the Tour de France after Frenchman Bobet and Belgian Merckx.

In 2024 he became the first rider in history to win two Grand Tours, two monuments, and the World Road Cycling Championship in a single season.

In 2025 he became the first rider in history to finish on the podium of all five monuments in a single season, with results such as 3rd place at Milan–San Remo, 1st at the Tour of Flanders, 2nd at Paris–Roubaix, and winning both Liège–Bastogne–Liège and the Giro di Lombardia.

In 2026 he won Milan–San Remo for the first time, wearing the rainbow jersey, something that hadn’t happened since 1983, when Giuseppe Saronni won the race as world champion. He also managed to win his 5th Tour de France, equaling Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Induráin.

Pogačar is considered by many cyclists, media and experts to be one of the greatest riders of all time.
