Description from the seller

Upcoming signals 41 (2026)
Dario Moschetta (b. 1973, Castelfranco Veneto, Italy)
Mixed media on canvas: 40 × 40 cm
Signed on front and back.
Certificate of Authenticity included.
Unframed, ready to hang.

Technique
Mixed media: acrylic paint, chemical transfer of printed elements,
spray paint, stencil, collage, and glue on canvas.

About the work
Upcoming signals 41 belongs to Moschetta's ongoing Upcoming signals series — an investigation into the archaeology of identity through layered surfaces. The profile, drawn from the classical tradition of Renaissance medals and antique sculpture, is fractured and rebuilt across strata of acrylic paint, chemical transfers, spray, stencil and collage.
Here the series turns cold and aquatic. The figure is submerged in glacial blues and cyan, lit from within against a dense black ground that gives the work an almost nocturnal, underwater silence. The face hovers between sculpture and dissolution: its surface breaks into rippling, draped folds, as though the marble were softening into water or memory. The chemical transfer process embeds fragments of the printed world — text residue, graphic matter — into the painted surface, making the work simultaneously excavation and construction.

The canvas texture reads through every layer, lending the surface a
tactile, almost archaeological quality visible in reproduction. In person,
the relief and material depth are considerably more pronounced.
