This circa-1920 Art Deco pendant necklace features a 9-diamond rose- and senaille-cut drop in 18-carat white and yellow gold, with a silver chain, and weighs 2.5 g.
Description from the seller
Type of jewel: Diamond pendant necklace
Condition: In well-preserved condition, especially given this necklace’s age.
Style: Art Deco, with an open rectangular element and a round diamond-set drop suspended from a gently curved upper section.
Era: Circa 1920.
Material: The pendant is in 18K white and yellow gold; the chain is silver (touchstone tested).
Diamonds: Nine rose-cut and senaille-cut diamonds.
Rose-cut and senaille-cut diamonds are traditionally described by number rather than by estimated weight, colour or clarity grades. Their varying and often irregular depth prevents reliable weight estimation while mounted, while formal colour and clarity grading is not customary in the trade for diamonds of these antique cutting styles.
All diamonds in this pendant were individually tested with the Magilabs' EXA Natural Diamond Detector and identified as natural diamonds.
Traditional gemstone associations: Diamond is the traditional birthstone for April and is associated with enduring love.
Hallmarks: No trace of hallmarks found.
Dimensions: Pendant: 28.1 × 15.3 mm; total necklace length: 45 cm. See picture with a ruler in cm and inches.
Weight: 2.5 g
