Constant Artz’s hand-signed oil painting “Een waterpoel met eenden in De Peel” dates from 1940–1950, depicts ducks in the Netherlands and is sold framed.
Description from the seller
A beautiful painting of De Peel featuring a drake and five ducks. One of the ducks has six ducklings. At the water’s edge stand two pollarded willows with new growth. The canvas size is 40x60 cm, and the outside of the frame is 53.5x73 cm.
The painting is in excellent condition. This means that it is not damaged, notrestored, has no craquelure, and is also clean of surface dirt. The beautiful matching artisanal ornamental frame is in good condition with minimal signs of wear.
Kunstschilder Constant David Ludovic Artz was born on June 3, 1870 in Paris and died on February 23, 1951 in Soestdijk (province of Utrecht — the Netherlands). He is a son of painter David Adolph Constant Artz (1837-1890).
Constant was registered at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague at the age of twelve. In 1899 he went to study with Tony Offermans (1854-1911). He also received advice from Willem Maris (1844-1910) and Hendrik Willem Mesdag (1831-1915).
The painting is well packed (including frame protection with foam rubber U-profile) and sent by registered mail. The painting can also be picked up at our gallery.
