In this colorful landscape, Ton Schulten invites the viewer into a world where light and color set the mood. Yellow, orange and red fields stretch beneath a deep blue and purple sky. The contrast between these warm and cool tones gives the painting a special glow, as if the land still glows at the end of the day.

Stylized trees frame the view on both sides. They guide the eye toward the open space in the middle, where the fields follow each other in rhythmic bands. Broad color fields, visible brushstrokes and delicate patterns give the landscape variety and movement.

The influence of the Twente coulisse landscape, a major source of inspiration for Schulten, is clearly recognizable. Yet he leaves room for imagination. The simplified forms and pronounced colors turn the landscape into a personal experience of calm, space and wonder.

With its generous size and bold colors this is an impressive work that gives a room character.

The work can be viewed by appointment. Shipping can be arranged after the auction.
