This work is a visual meditation on silence and inner peace. The female figure, in full contemplation, symbolizes calm, balance and the strength of connecting with oneself. Her hands on her head and her gathered gaze represent the act of turning down the world’s noise to listen to one’s own voice and one’s own breath.

Technically, the piece is a fusion of expressive figuration where anatomy and skin are built with bold brushstrokes to bring dynamism and volume. A distinctive element is the tactile application of gold leaf on the clothing, creating a luminous and three-dimensional texture that contrasts intensely with the red and dark stripes. The composition is structured through a bold play of planes, a deeply textured peripheral background in neutral grays, a rigid and definitive middle plane in absolute blue that acts as a compositional anchor, and the human figure in the foreground.

Vida AMReyes. (Granma, Cuba 1991) discovered from a very young age that drawing was not just a pastime, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated an exceptional technical training in oil painting, acrylics, and life drawing, foundations that later shaped her conceptual signature.
Her early years of career unfolded amid the Cuban cultural effervescence, actively participating in young artists’ salons and group exhibitions. Her work began to stand out immediately: in salons and exhibitions earning numerous prizes and mentions.

Her early years of career took place amid Cuban cultural effervescence, actively participating in young art salons and collective exhibitions. Her work began to stand out immediately: in salons and exhibitions earning numerous prizes and mentions.
AMReyes’s work is distinguished by a visceral and imposing realism that captures the gaze at once. However, her approach does not stop at mere photographic mimesis. On a rigorously worked anatomy or faces charged with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the bearer, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or garments laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and the everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity.
This fusion between technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the way to her international projection. Over the last decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in:
Spain: Where her conceptual language connects with European expressionism.
United States: Integrated into private collections dedicated to contemporary Latin American art.
Belgium and Poland: Exhibited at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries.
Russia: Acquired by collectors fascinated by the rigor of technique and the school of realism.
Currently, AMReyes resides in Spain, a country where she has established her studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Far from the quick commercial noise, she continues to develop her artistic life with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a tool of universal introspection. Her studio is today a space of constant creation, where every brushstroke continues to reveal those truths and hidden icons that we all carry inside, but that we often find hard to see.
