A beautifully rendered 17th-century oil painting depicting Santa Rosa de Lima in a tender, contemplative moment. The intimate composition presents the revered saint holding the Christ Child, her serene expression radiating devotion as she gazes lovingly upon Him. The infant reaches playfully toward her, heightening the scene’s warmth and humanity. Richly painted roses—emblems of purity, love, and divine grace—frame the figures, further underscoring Santa Rosa’s spiritual symbolism. Executed with soft chiaroscuro and meticulous detailing, this devotional work reflects the period’s profound religious sentiment and refined Baroque craftsmanship. A moving and elegant example of sacred art from the era.

On the frame reverse, a catalogue label numbered 72938 suggests a possible museum or institutional provenance, further enhancing the painting’s historical interest.
