POPSAN - Asterix and Obelix at Sunset (夕陽のアステリックスとオベリックス) - UNIQUE WORK

THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1

In this vertical format, Popsan places Asterix, Obelix and Ideafix (Idéfix), the Gaulish heroes of the Asterix comic, with their backs to the edge of a cliff facing the sea at sunset. Asterix stands with fists on his hips, winged helmet on his head and a sword at his belt. He looks to the horizon, Ideafix seated at his feet, while Obelix, in blue-and-white striped trousers, guards a standing stone on his shoulder. Down below, the Gaulish village lines up its thatched huts behind its wooden palisade. Smoke rises, between menhirs, a dolmen and a river that pours into the sea in a cascade. Offshore, a fleet of drakkars with red and white striped sails makes for the coast, beneath a large orange sun resting on the horizon. Seabirds glide above the waves breaking against the cliffs and a rock arch. At the top right, an oak spreads its branches, and a tower rises on the distant cape. The deep blue of the ocean, the green of the moors, and the orange glow of the sky share the image.

It’s the calm before the Invaders arrive.

A luminous, adventure-filled piece, ideal to bring a touch of Gaulish nostalgia to the interior of a collector who loves comic books.
