LeYack’s 2022 limited-edition artwork *Visiting Hours - Hand signed* is a hand-signed giclée print on canvas, measuring 40 × 40 cm.
Description from the seller
A New York hotel room at night. Snug in a white tufted armchair, a brunette with a black fringe, jacket open and patent-leather thigh-high boots, she looks up at a man whose only visible features are his dark suit and hand. Venetian blinds cast long bands of light on the wall, on the chair, and on him.
The Venetian blinds are the signature of film noir, from Assurance on Death to Chandler’s crime novels: they slice faces and remind us that in these stories no one tells the whole truth. The man remains off-screen, and it is she who holds the scene. Who came to visit whom?
The bright white of the chair bursts amid the deep blues of the night, with the city lights in the distance through the window.
