Description from the seller
- Look at me -
ORIGINAL Painting, character portraiture by ARVY
The painting is 100% hand-painted using highly pigmented artist-grade acrylic paints, and finished with a UV-protective satin varnish. It is created on unprimed, firm, robust, and kink-resistant gallery-quality canvas (360 g/m²) without a stretcher frame.
Dimensions: 105x165 cm (entire canvas)
Artwork Overview:
Everyone wanted to be seen. Nobody remembered how to look.
Four figures gather across a pale golden field, their identities dominated by eyes and crown-like spikes. On the left, a black rectangular face stares through two amber halos. An enormous red-outlined eye rises beside it like a public monument. A blue triangular being offers a single unblinking gaze, while the tall crowned figure on the right holds another eye above a clenched red mouth. Even a small detached eye floats in the upper corner. Every surface is watching, yet none of the gazes truly meets another.
In Look at Me, ARVY transforms the contemporary hunger for attention into an absurd royal portrait. The crowns suggest importance, but also resemble antennas tuned towards the reactions of an invisible audience. Each character broadcasts a carefully constructed version of itself while waiting for confirmation that it has been noticed. The viewer becomes mirror, crowd and screen at once.
Warm cream and ochre create deceptive calm beneath the visual tension. Black silhouettes provide graphic weight, interrupted by cobalt blue, vermilion, orange and acidic yellow. Deliberately naïve geometry meets restless neo-expressionist brushwork; exposed lines and corrections give the surface the urgency of an image competing to remain visible.
Beneath the satire lies a deeply human need. These figures are not simply asking for attention—they are searching for proof that they exist within another person’s mind. The painting exposes the distance between visibility and connection: one can be watched by everyone and still remain unseen.

Artist Bio:
ARVY is a fourth-generation artist continuing a family legacy of visual and performance art. He studied painting at an art college, graduating in 2016, and has been active in the art world ever since.
Raised in a creative household, ARVY began his artistic path in childhood while assisting his father — painter, illusionist and performer Arvydas Gaičiūnas ( Retne ), co-founder of Magic Theater DiArchy. This early exposure to both visual art and stage performance shaped his distinctive, theatrical sensibility.
ARVY’s work is eclectic and emotionally charged, blending elements of contemporary expressionism, symbolism, street energy, and poetic abstraction. His pieces explore contrasts — chaos and harmony, intuition and control — reflecting the pulse of modern life through vivid color and raw gesture.
He has exhibited internationally and his works are held in private collections across Europe. Beyond painting, ARVY is also known for his creative versatility as a musician and digital creator, bringing the same intensity and imagination to sound, movement, and image.
Thank you for considering ARVY’s work. This portrait is sure to be a standout addition to any collection of modern or contemporary art!
