Pierre-Georges Jeanniot (1848-1934) is a French artist, painter, watercolorist, illustrator and engraver. Proximate to the Parisian art circles of the late 19th century, he maintained relationships with Edgar Degas and Édouard Manet in particular. He is especially known for his literary illustrations, scenes of Parisian life and landscapes in watercolor. His precise and lively drawing is accompanied by a great sensitivity to attitudes, atmospheres and lighting effects.
