Description:

The work: A Mediterranean harbor scene exhibiting remarkable warmth, generosity, and liveliness. Sunlit façades in ochre and golden hues are adorned with shutters in violet, purple, and azure, as well as balconies blooming with vibrant geraniums. At the foot of this picturesque setting, Provençal boats with bright colors (red, turquoise, yellow) rock gently on calm, luminous waters. A joyful, balanced composition that deeply embodies the charm of the South.

The technique: Entirely executed in acrylic with a painting knife on a canvas mounted on a wooden panel. The artist's exclusive use of the knife yields a rich, sculptural, and particularly vibrant texture. Generous impasto emphasizes the relief of traditional boats, the patina of the stones, and the stucco of sunlit façades, creating a striking play of light.

The Artist: With over 25 years of professional career (established since 2001, first exhibition in 1992), NOLAC (1970) is an accomplished artist. Her knife work is her signature, blending forceful gesture with poetic finesse. She now explores port scenes and urban landscapes with a freer, more instinctive interpretation, touching on luminous and expressive abstraction.
