Technique: Mixed media on paper, pending confirmation by direct examination.
Signature: Monogram «M. R.» in the lower left corner.
Framing: Molded black wooden frame with a gold inner profile and a light mat.
Description
Interesting still life composition by the renowned Spanish contemporary painter Miguel Rasero, in which three glass containers of different proportions appear, arranged on a background of free and expressive brushstrokes.
The work presents a plastic language of great spontaneity, built through gestural strokes, superimposed grafismos, and broad pigment patches in ochre, earth tones, grays, and soft greenish hues.
The outlines of the bottles are defined by quick and energetic lines, while transparencies and reflections are suggested through the alternation between the reserved areas of the paper and the color applications.
The composition constitutes an appealing example of the contemporary reinterpretation of the still life, a fundamental genre in Rasero’s artistic career. Its treatment of volumes and the graphic decomposition of the forms evoke the plastic investigations of Cubism and Expressionism, integrated into a personal language of notable visual strength.
