AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Specifically produced for the Belgian market.

This is an Omega with a special history.....
The model called the "Ranchero" introduced in the 1950s for the Spanish-speaking market had not become very popular... a watch for 'farmers' did not capture everyone's imagination.
In the early 1970s, Omega wanted to revive this type designation and decided to introduce it on a small scale in Belgium.
Again it was not a big success.....because compared to the popular "Seamaster" it added little......
The watch offered here now has an additional peculiarity.......
Omega at the time still had many unused cases for the electronic F300 movement.......which also had not become a success.......so, for thrift, these unused cases (with lid) were first used for the "Ranchero" type.....hence the factory struck out the original ref. no. 198.0086 and placed the new ref. 166.0218 underneath.!!

With a thick gold layer of 20 microns....without wear marks.....and with the characteristic C-shape from the 70s.
Width is 35 mm. (without the crown, with crown it is almost 38 mm) x 41.7 mm (lug to lug).
Brown dial with luminescence....date at 3 (quick-set in the 1st crown position).
Stamped Omega crown.... crystal still neat.
Steel screw-down case back with the 2 ref. numbers.
The automatic Omega cal. 1012 is numbered 389 xxxx, which dates this Omega to 1974.
The movement has recently been serviced and runs very accurately at 28,800 ticks per hour.
The deviation on the digital tester is only a few seconds in 24 hours. (momentary snapshot).

Complete with an unworn brown croc strap with an Ω buckle.
Suitable for wrists up to 21 cm in circumference.

In short: a distinctive Omega....typical of the 70s.....perfectly running and still in very nice condition.

2 months warranty on the movement.

(glass, crowns, straps and extra features are excluded).
