Raphaël Geminiani - Road bicycle - Before 2000

Hello. I am putting up for sale a Raphaël Géminiani racing bicycle, estimated between 1954 and 1956, manufactured by Établissements Rochet. The bike is in an exceptional state of preservation “in its original condition” with its original deep red lacquered paint intact.

The mechanicals are 100% functional. Only the tires/tyres are unusable and will need to be replaced by the future buyer according to their preferences.

Here is the detailed description of its period configuration, remaining entirely homogeneous:

Frame: Raphaël Géminiani, original dark red enamel, very good condition of preservation (no repaint, vintage patina preserved).

Rear derailleur: The mythical Simplex Juy 543 with dual cable (top-of-the-range model introduced at the end of 1954), in perfect working order.

Front derailleur: Simplex of the “suicide” type with direct lever, no cable (Competition/Tour de France range).

Saddle: Leather of brand Idéale, mounted on its rare lightweight chassis in Duralumin (Cegedur metal). The leather is original.

Cockpit: Aluminum stem brand AVA with the characteristic period engravings (Star and Lightning).

Braking: Mafac brake calipers and levers in forged duralumin, original.

General condition: Complete bike, sound, having undergone no modifications nor anachronisms over the decades. Ideal for a fine preservation project or to take part in prestigious vintage gatherings.
