Vida AMReyes. (Cuba 1991) discovered from a very young age that drawing was not just a pastime, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she solidified an exceptional technical prowess in oil painting, acrylics, and life drawing—the foundations that later would shape her conceptual signature.
Her early career unfolded amid the Cuban cultural ferment, actively participating in young-art salons and collective exhibitions. Her work immediately began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions she earned numerous awards and mentions.

Her early career years were spent amid the Cuban cultural effervescence, actively participating in young-art salons and group shows. Her work quickly began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions she earned numerous awards and mentions.
AMReyes’ work is distinguished by a visceral and imposing realism that captures the eye instantly. However, her approach does not settle for mere photographic mimesis. On anatomies worked with rigor or faces charged with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories, and conceptual elements, employing in her works hand-stitched seams, dense blocks of color, or garbed outfits laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and the everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity.
This fusion of technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the door to her international projection. Over the last decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in:
Spain: Where her conceptual language connects with European Expressionism.
United States: Included in private collections dedicated to contemporary Latin American art.
Belgium and Poland: Shown at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries.
Currently, AMReyes resides in Spain, a country where she has established her studio and forged a new creative phase. Far from fast commercial noise, she continues to develop her artistic life with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a tool of universal introspection. Her studio is today a space of constant creation, where each brushstroke continues to reveal those truths and hidden icons that we all carry inside, but which we often find hard to see.
