Oil on canvas, hand-signed lower right (signature not deciphered). Second half of the 20th century, probably 1950s .
Animated courtyard scene in a Moroccan riad: two men playing a board game on a kilim, a standing figure in a burnous, a young gazelle, horseshoe arches, zellige tilework and climbing vines. Rich palette and textured impasto.
Canvas: 61 × 91.5 cm, on stretcher. Framed: approx. 81 × 112 × 4.5 cm. Professionally framed (framer's label on reverse: moulding "Athos", finish "Champagne", ivory slip with gilt edge).
Condition: good. Colours fresh. A few small, localized paint losses (upper right arch, near the stool at right), see photos. No restoration.

Levendige scène op de binnenplaats van een Marokkaanse riad: twee mannen spelen een bordspel op een kelim, een staande figuur in burnoes, een jonge gazelle, hoefijzerbogen, zellige-tegelwerk en klimplanten. Rijk kleurenpalet en pasteuze verfopbreng.
Doek: 61 × 91,5 cm, op spieraam. Met lijst: ca. 81 × 112 × 4,5 cm. Professioneel ingelijst (label lijstenmaker op de achterzijde: lijst "Athos", afwerking "Champagne", ivoorkleurige marie-louise met gouden rand).
