AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Splendid and exceptional relic of football history and editorial-industrial archaeology. It is the original offset metal plate (printing matrix) used by the Roman newspaper Il Messaggero for the historic celebratory edition of May 1983, on the occasion of AS Roma's second scudetto (season 1982/1983).
The plate, made of flexible aluminum for rotary printing, features on the front the mirrored engraving in a gold/bronzed finish of the era's front page. In the center stands the iconic image of the "Divine" Paulo Roberto Falcao with arms raised, wearing the historic Barilla jersey. In the upper left is printed the famous congratulations editorial signed by Giovanni Agnelli ("Congratulations to Roma for this scudetto...").
The back shows the classic satin, smooth finish of typographic aluminum. The item is sold complete with a protective gilded wooden frame that enhances its visual impact, ready for display.
A unique piece, ideal for true collectors of the AS Roma world and the history of Italian sports journalism. Excellent condition.
