Description from the seller

Agoudal Meteorite – Iron IIAB – Morocco

The Agoudal meteorites are among the most remarkable and relatively rare discoveries of the early 21st century. Identified for the first time in 2000 in the Moroccan High Atlas, they were officially recognized and classified on 27 April 2013 as iron meteorites of the IIAB type, a category prized for its structure and cosmic origin.

This lot comes directly from the Agoudal region, located at over 2,000 meters in altitude. We personally acquired it during an on-site expedition in March 2026, right in the dispersion zone, ensuring authentic and direct traceability.

The fall produced a large quantity of fragments, ranging from a few grams to several kilograms, for a total estimated mass of more than 100 kg. Most specimens appear as irregular chips, typically between 2 and 5 cm, and irregular in shape. They are often covered with a thin weathering crust, while some more compact fragments retain a well-developed fusion crust, characteristic of a highly intense atmospheric passage.

These meteorites offer a rare balance between accessibility and scientific authenticity, while remaining relatively uncommon on the market. Their origin, classification, and collection method make them prized pieces, suitable for discerning collectors as well as enthusiasts of extraterrestrial minerals.

Authentic piece – direct provenance – natural cosmic material.

Seller's Story

We have been meteorite hunters for a long time. Passionate about these objects which are pieces of interplanetary space, we are delighted to be able to offer, through our collections, exceptional pieces, which everyone can obtain to have a part of the sky in the palm of their hand. Have you ever observed the Milky Way? Have you ever observed a shooting star? Have you ever wondered where this one fell? In any case, we do and were even able to collect some by hand to send them directly to your home. Each of our meteorites is unique and carefully selected before sale, cleaned, often treated, sometimes sliced and sometimes polished using specific equipment. Based in France, we provide meteorites from many different countries across the planet. These objects have traveled staggering distances to end up on our shelves and perhaps even in your home. We provide certificates of authenticity for each piece. We make it a point of honor to offer quality batches, sent carefully and quickly across Europe with a tracking number.
