Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
This handmade artistic glass vase dates from 1970–1980.
Description from the seller
Up for auction: a large artistic hand-made glass vase from the Italian modern design period (probably the 1970s/1980s). The vase is distinguished by a fascinating “spot” decoration in natural tones of brown, beige and amber, creating an elegant tortoiseshell effect.
The craftsmanship is entirely artisanal, sculptural, and highly impactful visually. The solid structure and a substantial weight of over 2.2 kg attest to its heft and material quality. As a freehand piece, the exterior surface shows light, captivating “humps” and waves perceptible to the touch, due to the different thermal reactions and densities of the colored glasses incorporated into the main glass mass. Inside the glass thickness there are also characteristic air bubbles, and the upper edge (lip) displays a deliberately irregular thickness: all elements typical of genuine hand-made workmanship.
The vase bears no signatures or marks.
A solid, scenographic vintage furnishing piece, perfect for art glass collectors or to embellish design interiors.
Excellent vintage condition. It shows no runs, chips, or restorations.
