DESCRIPTION AND HISTORICAL CONTEXT:
Robust and elegant desk chest originally conceived as a purera box or safekeeping box for valuables. Made from noble wood with traditional joinery, reinforced corners through pierced hardware and gilded brass corner pieces in Renaissance/Baroque style. The domed lid features a hinged upper handle and a front tilting latch. Its natural wood interior preserves a neutral aroma, ideal for cigars or collectible pieces.
