Description from the seller
The work proposes a contemporary interpretation of the Mediterranean landscape, where atmosphere, light, and the perception of the moment acquire greater prominence than a faithful representation of reality.
The artist develops an expressive pictorial language, combining spontaneous figuration with loose, gestural brushwork. The forms are built through planes of color and strokes of varying intensity, discarding unnecessary detail to concentrate attention on the composition and the visual experience. The result conveys a sense of freshness and naturalness, in which each element seems to be part of a moment captured intuitively.
The relationship between warm and cool tones creates an interesting chromatic balance. Light becomes a structural element of the composition, adding depth and visual rhythm without resorting to overly descriptive treatment. The brushstroke retains its spontaneity and leaves visible the creative process, giving the painted surface a dynamic and approachable quality.
Beyond the representation of the landscape, the work poses a reflection on the perception of time and the memory of places. It evokes those moments of pause in which everyday experience turns into an emotional image: the feeling of freedom, stillness, and the intimate connection with the surroundings.
A piece of contemporary pictorial language that finds its strength in the spontaneity of gesture, chromatic sensitivity, and the ability to convey an atmosphere.

R. Serra is a visual artist based in Spain whose practice centers on painting research and the mechanisms of image construction. Her training in Plastic Arts, with a specialty in painting, together with subsequent studies in graphic design, shapes a language that situates painting in dialogue with the aesthetics and visual logics of digital culture.
Her work investigates memory as a process of editing and reconstruction, where lived and imagined memories converge to generate images that question the stability of representation. Through painting, she explores tensions between presence and absence, experience and fiction, proposing scenes suspended between the intimate and the universal.
Over the last decade she has developed an exhibition trajectory that includes group shows in national and international galleries, consolidating her presence in the context of contemporary art.
