“Rural Landscape with a Stone Bridge” is an oil painting from 1900–1910, originating in the Netherlands and sold with a frame.
Description from the seller
Rural Landscape with a Stone Bridge
Possibly Dutch School, late 19th or early 20th century
An expressive oil sketch depicting a small stone bridge beside a thatched farmhouse, with pollarded trees reflected in the quiet water. A broad earth-toned road leads into the scene beneath a pale blue-grey sky.
Painted with loose, confident brushwork, the composition balances warm ochre and soft pink with fresh greens and cool shadows. Its freely worked surface preserves the immediacy and intimate character of a sketch.
Presented in a 19th-century frame combining a richly textured dark surface with gilded foliate decoration. The frame’s beautiful aged patina complements the painting’s earthy palette.
