SOLVE ME – The hardest puzzle is yourself

Built around a wooden figure, the piece is entirely painted by hand, with every color, shape and detail individually applied by the artist. The work explores one of the central themes of UNSEEN: what exists beneath the surface.

The figure is transformed into a visual puzzle, where each painted fragment represents a part of identity, emotions, memories, contradictions and experiences that come together to form a person. The idea is simple, yet deeply personal: we spend our lives trying to understand the world around us, while the most complex puzzle often remains ourselves.

A handmade sculpted clay element adds another layer to the work, extending the piece beyond painting and into a more tactile, three-dimensional language. The combination of hand-painted wood and sculpted detail is part of UNSEEN’s approach to transforming familiar figures into symbolic objects.

Through SOLVE ME, the wooden mannequin is no longer simply a support. It becomes a character, a question, and a reflection of the viewer.

UNSEEN is a contemporary sculptural artist whose work explores identity, emotion and hidden meaning through hand-painted wooden figures.

Using the wooden artist mannequin as a recurring sculptural form, UNSEEN transforms each figure by hand through painting, composition and the addition of sculpted clay elements. Every piece becomes a unique object, combining colour, volume and symbolism.
