Aimoini’s Latin work *Aimoini monachi* was published in Paris by Apud Andream Wechelum in 1567 in a leather binding and contains 795 pages.
Description from the seller
Paris, Andreas Wechel, 1567.
1 volume, octavo, contemporary binding, full brown calfskin, blind spine with five raised bands, 4 leaves, 795 pages and 16 leaves (index and errata). Original edition of the version provided by Jean Nicot. Satisfactory condition despite the worn binding with leather losses at the headcaps and corners; otherwise good condition.
"It is from the manuscript that the first edition of the History of Aimoin was made, in Paris in 1514, at Badius. The mistakes with which this edition was filled, up to the name Aimoin being called Annonius, compelled Jean Nicot to issue a more correct one. Although the Privilege is dated 1557, it appeared only in 1567, in Paris, at André Wechel, a disciple of Abbon de Fleury; the Benedictine Aimoin entered the Benedictine abbey of Fleury around 980. His Historiae Francorum Lib. V constitutes one of the oldest important compilations of the sources of the history of France, composed before 1004. The work concerns the history of the Franks from their origins to 654. Language: Latin"
