About the work:
The artist's works mainly depict men, portrayed in their intimacy, vulnerability, or contradictions. Through them, she denounces certain masculine taboos and questions social injunctions.
The artist creates and cuts her own stencils. She collects old magazines to use the paper for collage. Each work is unique due to this technique; the details are painted in oil. The background is painted with acrylic. Nothing is digital.
About the artist:
Born in 1986 in La Louvière (Belgium), G. Carta lives and works today in France.
Her art is a quest for identity, deep values, deconstruction and reconstruction. Each work is an invitation to vulnerability, a plunge into her raw and sincere reality.
