About the artwork:
The artist's works primarily feature men, captured in their intimacy, their vulnerability or their contradictions. Through them, she denounces certain masculine taboos and questions societal injunctions.
The artist creates and cuts her own stencils. She collects old magazines to reuse their paper for collage. Each artwork is unique because of this technique; the details are done in oil paint. The background is created with acrylic paint. Nothing is digital.
About the artist:
Born in 1986 in La Louvière (Belgium), G. Carta now lives and works in France.
Her art is a quest for identity, deep values, deconstruction and reconstruction. Each work is an invitation to vulnerability, a plunge into her raw and sincere reality.
