A simple and recognizable figure is transformed into something different. The teddy bear, a symbol of affection and protection, keeps its shape but loses its function: it is no longer something to touch or live with lightly.
The surface completely changes the perception of the work. What from afar appears familiar, up close becomes more distant, almost inaccessible. This creates a direct contrast between what we know and what we see.
The work plays precisely on this tension: on one hand it attracts, on the other it keeps at a distance. In this way, an image tied to childhood is reinterpreted in a contemporary key, becoming something more complex and less reassuring.
