AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Not everything we desire to be shown wants to be seen. Veil speaks of the deeper parts of identity, those that exist beyond image and beyond definition. The figure emerges and dissolves at the same time, guarding the mystery of its inner life. Created with natural pigments extracted directly from the artist and charcoal on cotton fabric, the work transforms matter into a delicate and elusive presence.

* Shipping and presentation:
The work will be shipped without a frame, rolled carefully on a tube to ensure maximum safety during transport. It can be framed or mounted on a frame at the collector’s discretion.

* Original piece signed by the artist, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

This work is created on unstretched canvas and is shipped rolled to guarantee maximum safety during transport.

ATTENTION:

*The canvas is not treated with gypsum or primer, so it is a raw and natural material.
*It must not be stretched excessively during mounting to avoid altering the texture and the rendering of the natural pigments.
*Do not use the stretcher bar, as it could compromise the stability of the work.
*It is recommended to rely on an expert framer for optimal mounting.

Executed on raw canvas that enhances the materiality of the work, this piece unites figurative art with the expressive gesture of abstraction, evoking emotion and introspection.

SERENA GRASSETTI — CONTEMPORARY ARTIST

Serena Grassetti is an Italian contemporary artist whose research investigates the complexity of being human, exploring identity, memory, fragility, and inner transformation through a personal and multidisciplinary artistic language.

Daughter of artists, trained at the Institute of Art in Macerata, she has developed over the years a deep knowledge of matter and its expressive possibilities, experimenting with painting, sculpture, modeling, resins, charcoal, and techniques related to Natural Art. This experience forms the foundation of a practice in which the material is not merely a support, but an integral part of the meaning of the work.

At the center of her research is the body understood as a psychological and symbolic space: a presence capable of manifesting what words cannot express. Through incomplete figures, gestures loaded with tension, and forms that oscillate between presence and dissolution, Grassetti gives visual substance to the deepest states of human experience.

Her work engages in the international dialogue of sculpture and contemporary figurative art, thematically related to the research of Rabarama, Berlinde De Bruyckere, and Xiang Jing, while the comparison with Andy Warhol, Banksy, and KAWS prompts reflection on the different ways in which contemporary art interprets identity and the human condition.

With works presented in exhibition contexts in Italy and abroad, Serena Grassetti pursues a research aimed at surpassing superficial representation to reach a more intimate and universal dimension. Her poetics are founded on a essential principle: to give shape to what is unseen, but which profoundly determines who we are.
