A singular ensemble bringing together an original drawing by Robert Combas and the work it comes from, with provenance offered at auction.
The drawing, made with black felt-tip on paper, features expressive figures and intertwined forms, in the fantastical and humorous universe characteristic of Robert Combas’s graphic vocabulary. It bears the signature “Combas” and the date “91.”
Drawing dimensions: 30 × 42 cm, unframed.
The book “...and the wind traverses them,” combining Sylvie Hadjean’s poems with Robert Combas’s illustrations, comprises 19 pages (excluding cover and the sheet bearing the original drawing) and 13 printed illustrations: 9 in color and 4 in black and white.
The copy is enhanced by a handwritten dedication from Sylvie Hadjean, dated December 21, 1991.
Condition: the sheet bearing the drawing detached from the book due to aging of its binding. It has since been framed with a mat for a neat presentation.
The book shows signs of use, wear on the cover and edge wear.
Detailed photographs allow the condition of the drawing, the book, and the frame to be assessed and are part of the description.
