Vida AMReyes. Born in 1991, she realized from a young age that drawing was not just a pastime, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated an exceptional technique in oil painting, acrylics, and life drawing, foundations that later shaped her conceptual signature.
Her early career unfolded amid cultural fervor, actively participating in young artists’ salons and group exhibitions. Her work quickly stood out, earning numerous awards and recognitions in salons and exhibitions.
AMReyes’s work is distinguished by a visceral, imposing realism that captures the eye at first glance. Yet her approach goes beyond mere photographic mimicry. On an anatomy studied with rigor or faces charged with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist layers and integrates icons, allegories, and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to those who bear them, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or garments loaded with symbolism. For her, the human body and everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity.
This fusion of technical mastery and symbolic storytelling opened the door to international exposure. Over the past decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in Spain, where her conceptual language connects with European expressionism.
United States: Integrated into private collections dedicated to contemporary Latin American art.
Belgium and Poland: Exhibited at figurative art fairs and cutting-edge galleries.
Russia: Acquired by collectors fascinated by the technical rigor and the school of realism.
Currently, AMReyes lives in Spain, where she has established her studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Far from fast commercial noise, she continues to develop her artistic life with patience and discipline, exploring painting as a tool for universal introspection. Her studio today is a space of constant creation, where every brushstroke continues to reveal those truths and hidden icons that we all carry inside, but that we often find difficult to see.
