Description from the seller
Impressive English pocket watch, fully engraved, hunter-case style, in excellent condition. The watch measures 3.6 cm in diameter. The front cover is engraved, with numerals and minute marks in gold color, within a circle of dark blue enamel and a small central crystal that allows the hands to be seen. Opening the front cover by pressing the crown down slightly. Bezel with a crystal that covers the dial. White porcelain dial in excellent condition. Beautiful back cover fully engraved, with all kinds of details still very visible despite the watch’s age. Dust cover with the following inscription written in English --MANN. Maker to the Admiralty. GLOUCESTER -- which translated into Spanish means --MANN. Proveedor del Almirantazgo-GLOUCESTER--. The watch has no dents or dings and all its covers open and close perfectly. All of its caps are stamped with the hallmarks of the silver, the silversmith, and the year of manufacture. Movement in working order until the winding runs down. It has not been tested for timekeeping accuracy, as it has spent many years in a display case and has been taken out for sale. All I can say to describe this beautiful watch, over 130 years old, does not capture all the beauty of this timepiece.
