Mara. J XL - Sapphire Nightfall

A lavender blue opens the upper part of the canvas and gradually descends toward a deep indigo, almost nocturnal. At mid-height a band of yellow and golden leaves lights up, like the last reflection of light that passes through the foliage. In front of this glow stand silhouettes of dark blue leaves, sharp and light. Further down, among the overlapped shapes, small fragments of ochre emerge that take up the warmth of the light. The surface is tactile, built up through successive layers of botanical imprints and glazes. From this emerges a serene and luminous image, suspended at the moment when day gives way to evening.
