Description from the seller
MiLo – “Crossing the Strata”
A work by Amsterdam-based artist MiLo (1976).
Pale stone, grey and charcoal tones form a layered ground, punctuated by rust red and warm ochre. Scraped passages, splashes and fine incised lines cross and overlap, creating a sense of movement and accumulated traces. A dark horizontal stroke runs through the composition, briefly anchoring its restless surface.
The work suggests fragments of a landscape or structure shaped by time: built up, worn away and marked again. Intersecting lines and shifting patches of colour invite the eye to move across the canvas and discover new details.
About the Artist
MiLo (1976) is an Amsterdam-based artist with a background in photography and art studies. His eclectic practice has evolved from Pollock-inspired action painting to geometric compositions and the layered, scratched surfaces he explores today. More than 900 of his works are held in collections across Europe, the United States, Hong Kong and Taiwan. His work explores abstraction, construction and erosion, memory and transformation.
