Cropline Series
Signed top right
Year 2026
The Cropline series was born from a reflection on each person's journey.
The destination point is symbolized by a marker, while the lines that intertwine evoke detours, choices, obstacles and encounters that build a life path.
No trajectory is perfectly straight. Some lines cross, come back on themselves or diverge before regaining their direction, like our own experiences.
Each work bears the name of a real place, not to offer a faithful representation, but to convey a sensation, an energy or an emotion through an original graphic composition.
In Europa, the geometry of the lines opposes the richness of colors and splashes. This confrontation symbolizes a continent divided between order and disorder, between unity and diversity. The paths persist despite the turmoil, inviting everyone to find their own way in the midst of complexity.
- About the artist:
Frédéric Truteau is a self-taught painter born in Marseille in 1970. He now lives near Aix-en-Provence.
Through his various series, he explores diverse graphic universes where each project develops its own visual language.
With Cropline, he intentionally moves away from his street art creations to offer a more austere exploration, built around the notion of journey. The lines become a metaphor for the paths each person takes, the decisions, detours and encounters that shape an existence.
His work blends geometric abstraction, bold colors and cultural references to create works with multiple levels of reading: immediately accessible through their aesthetics, they also invite the viewer to project their own story onto them.
Each canvas is handmade as a unique piece.
