About the work:
"Aloe" (Alien Lost On Earth) embodies a human being who feels foreign in the modern world, immersed in a society where cultural richness seems to be in decline, insecurity is growing and the future is lacking clarity. This evocative character takes us into a deep nostalgia for the 1980s, a time that poignantly reflects a past now distant and irreplaceable, carrying timeless memories.
Despite feeling out of sync with this world, he tries, albeit unintentionally, to blend in, exploring subtleties to gradually assimilate.
About the artist:
Frédéric Truteau, self-taught painter, was born in Marseille in 1970, and today lives near Aix-en-Provence.
With Frédéric Truteau, humor and mockery are valuable artistic instruments.
An instrument to take the opposite stance of ideas and situations commonly accepted.
Dare, shake up, disturb, surprise, no matter what.
For Frédéric Truteau, the essential aim is to provoke a reaction by sharing his own view of things.
