Description from the seller

-About the work:

"REYKJAVIK"
Acrylic on canvas
50 × 50 cm
Unique piece
Cropline Series
Signed in the top left
Year 2026

The Cropline series was born from a reflection on everyone's journey.

The destination point is symbolized by a landmark, while the lines that intertwine evoke detours, choices, obstacles and encounters that build a life path.

No trajectory is perfectly straight. Some lines intersect, come back on themselves or move away before returning to their direction, like our own experiences.

Each work bears the name of a real place, not to offer a faithful representation, but to convey a sensation, an energy or an emotion through an original graphic composition.

-About the artist:

Frédéric Truteau is a self-taught painter born in Marseille in 1970. He now lives near Aix-en-Provence.

Through his various series, he explores varied graphic universes where each project develops its own visual language.

With Cropline, he deliberately moves away from his street art creations to offer a more pared-down inquiry, built around the notion of journey. The lines become a metaphor for the paths we each take, the decisions, detours and encounters that shape an existence.

His work blends geometric abstraction, bold colors and cultural references to create works with multiple levels of reading: immediately accessible by their aesthetics, they also invite the viewer to project their own story into them.

Each canvas is handmade as a unique piece.
