An acrylic-on-canvas artwork exploring the connection between female identity and nature. The face emerges among flowers and vegetation, symbolically blending into a setting that represents vitality, sensitivity, and transformation. Through expressive brushwork, vivid colors, and chromatic contrasts, the composition conveys emotional strength and a sense of harmony between the human figure and its inner landscape. The work invites us to reflect on identity, beauty, and nature as an extension of the self.
Vida AMReyes (Granma, Cuba, 1991) discovered at a very young age that drawing was not just a hobby, but a way of interpreting the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There, she developed exceptional technical skill in oil painting, acrylic painting, and life drawing—foundations that would later shape her distinctive conceptual style.
Her early career unfolded amid Cuba’s cultural vibrancy, with active participation in young artists’ salons and group exhibitions. Her work began to stand out immediately, earning numerous awards and honorable mentions at salons and exhibitions.

AMReyes’s work is distinguished by an imposing, visceral realism that immediately captures the viewer’s attention. However, her approach goes beyond mere photographic mimesis. Over carefully rendered anatomy or faces imbued with profound psychological expressiveness, the artist superimposes and integrates icons, allegories, and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the person who bears them, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or symbolically charged garments. For her, the human body and the everyday figure are the perfect canvas for reflecting on identity.
This fusion of technical mastery and symbolic storytelling paved the way for her international presence. Over the past decade, her works have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in:
Spain: where her conceptual language resonates with European Expressionism.
United States: included in private collections devoted to contemporary Latin American art.
Belgium and Poland: exhibited at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries.
AMReyes currently lives in Spain, where she has established her studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Away from the fast pace of commercial noise, she continues to develop her artistic practice with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a universal tool for introspection. Her studio is now a space of constant creation, where every brushstroke continues to reveal those hidden truths and icons we all carry within us, but which we often struggle to see.
